Grand National eats a Vette

While out and about watched a Corvette try to run away from a Grand National with no luck. If it means anything the Vette almost won....but almost doesn't count.

Not the best year for vette performance, but easy to make better.
Still, a corvette went down to a semi luxurious old Buick!
Good stuff.

I agree, a '69 was supposed to have some grunt.

 

It;s the side pipe set up too. No slouch by any means.

Depends on what it has in it and if it's stock or not. A friend of mine had a stock `69 427-390hp, 4 speed w/3.55 gears and sidepipes years ago and the best run he ever made with it was a 13.64 with slicks. That wouldn't be much of a challange for a GN with little more than a chip and a 160 thermostat. Add mods to either of them and it's anyone's game.

 

Fiberglass is more filling than rice.

No, think he was coming back from BG. Wasn't sure when the pic was taken. He does tend to take a ride out that way sometimes when he's cruising aimlessly.
