thru the GSCA. It came back $19,500

Needless to say I was pleased, now I need to show it to the insurance company to get it insured for the full amount.

Wonder what it'll cost or how much the premiums will jump?? We'll find out next week. I'll keep ya posted.

Ronnie i had my 87 gn appraised at $19,000 by GSCA 3 years ago American Insurance Company out of Miami, Florida is charging me 389.00 per year!!! I m at school but can get the info from my stepfathers secretary as he keeps all our car files locked in his shop. Just thought you would like to know. Deductable i forgot off hand but if she gets totalled its a check for $19k to me for the car if its damaged. I believe no mileage limits as well but i do not drive it much currently being away at school and all, but hopes this help. If you would like a contact number, just ask!

Thanks! I "might" take ya up on that.

I spoke with Grundy yesterday and they quoted me $303 per year. Another company listed in the GSX-TRA quoted $289, Sneed just faxed me a quote of $355.

I haven't spoke with SF yet. I've been with them since '88 and had rather have all my ins in 1 place provided they treat me right.
I was planning on seeing SF in person Wednesday morning.

The appraisal that the GSCA/ Lasseter sent me say's it's been "liberally modifed" for performance. I'm worried that SF may question .."is this a race car??" and try to jack me!!!!

    What do ya'll think???

Try AMPAC. You need to insure one driver car, then the other appraised collector cars are cheaper.

For example, I've got the 87GN as the main car with 250/500 medical, 250K liability, 250/500 uninsured motorist, $500 comp, etc. and that's $194 for six months.

The 66 Riv is appraised at $20K, has the same coverage and it's $85 for six months. Make sure they set the car type to Classic/Antique vs Specialty. The latter costs more. They require an appraisal and pictures. No milage restrictions.

I had my 87 GN appraised for $20,000, and my insurance from Condon and Skelly cost me $312.00 for the entire year with full coverage(glass insurance, rental car, hotel expenses). That is with a 4,000 mile a year travel plan. Pretty good, huh?

Well, I just left the State Farm office and they wouldn't touch it. Said it's not old enough to be a classic, blah, blah, BUT they'd put regular insurance on it and if something happened then i'd have to fight it out........ :Dou: I said no-thanks.

So looks like i'll be going with a specialty insurance company for sure now.

Check Condon and Skelly-I'm sure they'll be able to do something for you. State Farm was giving me some hassles, and I told them that I would drop them and go somewhere else(which I did). Much better now!:TU:

Ronnie tell me what happens the guy i dealt with is good, out of Indiana, so just let me know... State farm doesnt surprise me, no insurance company would list my gn as a "collector" not old enough, etc.... But trust me it is worth it in the long run, one day something could happen and you dont want to look back and think, should, would coulda.... DOH!!!:af:
