On a happier note than the recent passings is the fact that Ted Harbit made it to 80 years of age Thursday, May 7, 2015. 'Funny what a little hug can do for an older guy, eh? A non-AMC Ambassador at The Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race display during the 2015 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals: And on a sobering note, Saturday, May 9, 2015 will be the 6th anniversary of Ted's flirt with mortality as he tumbled down the Muncie Dragway for about an eighth of a mile, having been diverted over the guard rail at 110 MPH in his beloved Chicken Hawk, totally destroying it and putting him in the hospital for six days with several cracked ribs, a broken collarbone, and more color [bruises] than the best tattoo artist in the country could put on any one person: (Photo taken Fall 1995.) About seven weeks later, Ted had The Stude Tomato at the Martin MI event and said he never had such good therapy as running it in that competition! You guys (and gals!) who think NHRA and PSMCDR are being too restrictive by not allowing cars to run under 11.50 without a roll bar need to know that this post wouldn't be here if that rule wasn't in place. Happy Birthday, Ted. BP
It's not every day that you can say you know someone who was around when Woodrow Wilson was in office :beers2::beers2:...........Happy Birthday Ted!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TED! I can only hope and pray to make it to 80 to race. Have Donny & Chris explain just how heavy The Stude Tomato's clutch push is to gain new respect for Teds' 4spd ability
Awesome....... And yes, I was telling Ted I had less respect for his shifting abilities after driving the Stude Tomato... I told him he does not shift that fast because he can, he shifts that fast because the clutch is coming back no matter where he is in the H pattern  Hope you had a great day Ted...see you at Martin
