After Easter Sunday, I was sitting on my couch enjoying a rare evening of no TV, no movies, no DVD's (I have 4 daughters, 15, 10, 7 and 3) and my 7 year old, Courtney, wants to know more about God. She told me she used to learn about God a lot when she was really little, but now that she's 7, she needs to know a lot more.

She wanted to know about the resurrection and all of that sort of stuff that defines Christianity.

I talked to her about sin, speration from God and that it leaves dark marks on our heart.

I talked to her about God's purity and how we cannot be with him if we have dark marks.

I talked to her about Jesus, he enver had any dark marks and was perfect.

I talked to her about the crucifixtion and how He took all of our dark marks upon Himself.

I talked to her about sin and death and how our sins were what took Jesus life away, even though He did nothing wrong.

I talked about the resurrection and how Jesus beat death, sin and the devil by comning back to life and if we believe in Him and that he did this for us, he would take the dark marks away from our heart and be good as new.

I realized as I was typing I said a lot of "I talked to her about..." She asked questions and I answered her and then asked her for feedback.

She got very quiet and sad and said she was sorry about the dark marks Jesus took on her behalf. I told her God loved her so much that He sent Jesus to take away all of our sins. We prayed for her salvation right then.

My 10 year old, Caitlin, was listening to the first part of the conversation. I told her what Courtney had just done and asked what she thought about it. With a shrug, she said it was OK. I went through the same details with her as I did Courtney. She began to cry, realizing she wanted forgiveness. We prayed, she's saved.

I explained to the both that Jesus commanded us to be baptized and that baptism is a form of obediance to Christ. They bothn said they wanted to obey him. Sunday, they will both be Baptized. I'm thrilled!

Caitlin was walking our toy poodle Sparky this evening. A garage door raised on the other side of the block as she walked past and a german shepard attacked Sparky. The owner, an elderly man, called the dog off, it went over and knocked him down and came back for more of Sparky. A boy in the neighborhood came by to see what was happening and he was attacked and bitten in the thigh.

God spared my child from physical harm. She's very freaked out, but getting better. Sparky lost 4 teeth and was roughed up but managed to survive mostly intact. Nathan, the boy went to the docvtor for treatment and will be OK. The dog's owner came by to see how everyone was, twice. He offered to pay for the vet bill and was visibly shaken. With a tear running down his cheek, he apologized yet again. He said he'll put the dog down.

God protected my child and for that I am greatful. My wife almost let our three year old go for the walk with Caitlin and Sparky. Thank God she didn't. It's been an interesting couple of weeks. The celebration reaches a fever pitch this Sunday morning with Caitlin and Courtney's baptism. Thanks for reading and letting me share.

That's pretty cool Michael!! :TU: :bglasses:

I was also saved at an early age.....7.5 years old. It's very important for kids to be reached at a reasonably early age. The vast majority of people that get saved, do so at an early age. :Smarty:

Thank God your child was spared, and I am glad to hear the boy is alright too.Now is a good time to maybe reach out to the neighbor and share Jesus with him also.

Scott, you are so right about that, stats show that after the age of eighteen, there is only like a seven percent chance a person will get saved.Thank you Jesus I was in that seven percent.I was saved when I was 26.

Thanks for sharing that. There is nothing that God can't do. Besides, he created it all! We are here for His pleasure even though we fail and let him down time and time again. But... his forgiveness and love for us all is always there!

That's great about the salvation decisions your daughters made. As those of us who have accepted Jesus as our personal savior know, it's the most important decision you'll ever make! And it's true that many and most come to know God through what Jesus did for us on that cross at Calvary as children at very young ages; it still is never too late to accept the free gift of salvation at any age including adulthood. I am grateful of how the Lord worked in circumstances in my life as an adult 8 years ago at the age of 38 when I was saved through God's grace. It was and is a life changing experience! :)

Michael, I know you are a very proud father! I look forward to the day when my younger two children become heart believers!

Great conversation with your Daughter! Until I had children I never fully understood what it meant to be like them to inherit the kingdom of God. I'm very happy the dog attack was not more severe. Alot of folks would wanna know why it happened at all, but you recognize how bad it coulda been. You get it!!! You have been very blessed by all this. :TU:

BTW, my four year old recently shocked us all by accepting Christ! I didn't think it would happen that young. Heck, I didn't push it at all. But she always did seem spiritual from day one.
