im looking at a seal/rebuild kit for a camaro 10 bolt rear.

will that fit the stock rear in my 72 GS 350?

The Buick 71-72 8.5 10 bolt is a bolt in axle rear. The Chevy 8.5 may be a C clip axle, I'm not sure. I would say the seals and bearings might be different. The rear in my car is a 1971 Buick GS350 8.5 10 bolt. When I had it rebuilt, it used A9 bearings and 712146 seals. I would say the 72 rear would use the same parts. The center section will be the same, so gears, posi, and installation parts should be the same. PM Monzaz to be sure.

Entire rear end - NO WAY!!! Camaro's (F-body) were Leaf spring cars; GS Skylark's (A-body) were coil spring cars. As to Differential, see other posting by me under what series positration for SOME help. I"M not certain, but it SEEMS that 71-72 A body 8.5 rears are different Spline count than CORPORATE (chevy) rears. Don't know for sure, though. DAWILDCAT seems to be knowledgeable on these things.

    Steve,
I'm pretty sure the Skylark/GS rears use the 8.5 corporate center section. Posis and gears from the Chevy and even the GN rears will work. Should be spline axles. The bearings and seals are another thing though. Monzaz will know for sure.
