Recently bought a 64 skylark. Opened the hood and found a glass bottle in a bracket attached to the driver side wheelwell in the engine compartment. It is about a pint or quart size glass bottle with a small metal twist-on top. It has no holes or hoses attached. It used to have a label but is unreadable now. I've asked a few old timers what it is for and they are unable to tell me. Wondering if anyone here knows what the bottle was originaly for. It does appear to have been there for the whole life of the car. Thanks. STeve
Yep . It was the spare windshield solvent bottle back in the day . Go to EBAY Stores .....Buick NOS , one was on there Sunday . :bglasses: :bglasses:
Yep...windshield wiper solvent...I cleaned mine out and use it for....what do you think an old Mess Sergeant would use it for....??
The solution in the bottle was a concentrate that made one tank of windshield cleaner. The caps are reproduced as well. p Whatever you do, don't break it!
I have the bottle for my 64' Lark as well . It's dated 1961 , and Canada (?) ) Still has some dried fluid in it . You said the label and cap are availeable , where ? Steve
