Giving an Evo 10 a run for his money

So this story is about my previous car, up until recently I had a 67 Special two door post with a brand new 327 sbc with Vortec heads, .460 lift cam, headers, 2.5" exhaust, and a shiny Richmond Super T-10 four speed (picked it up as is for $3000 hehe). Super fun, but I didn't realize quite how fast it was at first...

I was warming my car up after a long night of Auto Tech classes (9 hours worth xP) and a fellow classmate who drives a 2013 Evo 10 rolled over and asked if I wanted to "run em" on the way home since we take the same freeway. I figured heck, why not there's no one on the road this time of night, and I've got a full tank.
We had a few fun pulls, laughing the whole time. He texted me later saying he'd raced Cobras, even sport bikes and nothing had kept up with him as well as my car did. Later the next week he was telling the story to classmates, and he said "I let off at over 120mph by the way" I knew my speedometer wasn't 100% accurate... but mine said 85-ish and I was right on his tail... I had hit what I thought was "85mph" on a bigger surface street before as well... guess the old girls can still hang with the new cats

Love hearing the old cars compete with the new.
