Where do I get them for a 67 Skylark? I saved them all just in case but it would be nice to replace them. Thanks
Big C: Are the extension gaskets you are talking about for the rear quarter extensions? If so, I have a good substitute. I have seen people use old inner tube, but it's not right. The originals were actually a foam material. We have a craft supply outfit here in N.Y. called Joann's Fabric. Maybe all craft places carry this product, I don't know, but anyway they have a sheets of black foam, very similar to the original. It comes in 1/16" and !/8" thickness. I used this when restoring my GS-340, and once in, it looks like the original.Don't hold me to the cost, but about $2.00 for about a 12" x18" piece. Easy to cut, and if you screw up, your only out a couple of bucks. Happy restoring. Tom
Thanks so much for the tip. Yep, it's for the quarter extensions and the skirt gasket seems to be of the same material. We also have Joann's Fabrics here. I'm pretty good at cutting things out and I saved the orginals for a template. We shall see. thanks again.
i remember my dad using strips of inner tubes for fendershirt gaskets. u might be able to find the real material from any comapny that supplies restoration parts for cadillacs. they all skirts .
I got the fender extension gasket material from Steele. it has the right profile to fit in the groove on my Wildcats.
