On 12/20/01 I purchased on new Modine model 365 radiator for my 72 GS on Ebay from the Radiator Doctor. Anyway, I now have a leak in one of the tanks, so I called them and they said it is a one yr warranty. Now mind you I kept the original add from ebay along with the invoice and the original add states in BOLD Letters that it is a LIFETIME warranty. In fine print on the invoice it says 1 yr. I spoke with a young lady and she is telling me that they will not honor the original ebay add and I asked to speak to a supervisor. Internet sales get only a 1 yr warranty even though their ebay add states lifetime!! Well I have yet to hear from them-they promised a call back. SO if aynone purchased from these people-beware....I will also post this is the buyer beware section.

I tried calling Modine and the number they have refers me to a local number which is no longer in service WTF!!

That sounds very misleading. While they "did" have "1 year", they also had "lifetime".

If you paid by credit card, you have a VERY valid beef. Even though your card has been charged already, you can still contact the credit card company and tell them the circumstances. I would NOT let these idiots just walk free with this ambiguous advertising.

Aren't most Modine radiators warrantied for life, from Modine. As long as you have the original receipt, you should be able to go to any Modine dealer to file a claim. My Modine came w/a pamphlet: Gold Card...Lifetime Limited Warranty, stating that you can bring it to any Gold Card or particpating facility. Try calling your local NAPA, as they sell Modines.

I called them back and spoke to a supervisor. I am supposed to call Friday and see whats up. I got his naume and number--will let you know what happens. I informed him about the ebay ad and that I still had it--that kind of changed the tone a bit.

If they still sell on ebay, report them to ebay as well.

Ebay is not the best at trying to protect buyers but it won't hurt.

I'm gonna see what happens on Friday after the call. If not good, well more than ebay will get notified.

I'd bet that the radiators that they're selling on eeek bay are "seconds" or not perfect units. I'd file a formal complaint with ebay. My wife does an awful lot of ebaying. She's files several complaints in the last couple of years and gotten good results. Especially if you check their history and see how many sales they've had thru ebay. If it's alot, then being banned from ebay would hurt.

The reason ebay is so bad at following through on peoples' complaints, is because ebay makes money on these people! And they intend to keep it that way.

So if they have 3000 feedback records, you'll be lucky to get a response.

On the other hand, if it was a newbie with, say, 5 feedbacks and a negative or 2, then by all means - do what you can to get rid of that ebayer.
