How much fuel should you see in the manifold if you take the carb off and look in the manifold after trying to start the motor???
Maybe a little 'wetness' but not a puddle, I think the key here might be 'after trying to start' if you just burped the throttle once to set the choke, then very little, if you were pumping it then much more...
