how do you remove the front pulley from a buick big block i know the harmonic balancer comes off ofter the pulley but to you just have to struggle with the main bolt to get both off?

The only thing holding that pulley on are the 6 bolts running into the harmonic balancer. Sometimes they can be a bit rusted on so you may have to get a bit animal with it. If you have removed the 6 bolts, spray some WD40 on it let it sit for a bit and pry away........

The larg bolt in the center just holds the balancer on.

If you have access to an air / impact wrench that's your best bet. If not, you can try wedging a pry bar on your fly wheel / flex plate while trying to loosen the bolt......

Pull the coil wire, put your breaker bar and socket on the bolt, put the bar against the frame and hit the starter! It works every time

1/2" impact wrench, they put out about 450 ft/lbs........200lbs is what you need when you go back on.
