I have a 1972 skylark convertable with a 455 olds in it for now, but the
question i have is about the front spindles. I bought both upper and lower A frames from Fatman Fab and installed their 2" dropped spindles, new springs, shocks and tyrod ends. The car handled like a dream but bottomed out on bridge joints at speed [60mph and up] and sometimes on hard turns the tire came in contact with the inner wheel well. I have bought 4 17" wheels with 255x60x17 and with a spacer they fit on the rear but on the front the wheel contacted the tyrod end on the wheels inner part and would not turn, about 2" from the inner bead. I think the 2" drop puts the tyrod end too low and am thinking of reinstalling the original spindles. I would like to keep the taller spindles but have not been able to find the ones with out the 2" drop. This car is my toy and hopefully will be around for a long time, as we know they are never finnished, but are always fun. I have a 30 over, 0 miles rebuilt 455, I was told it is a stage 1, ready to go in this spring. I will remove the nose and get it all done at the same time. I think what I need is the next gen spindle but do not know the part #s or if they will work on the A frames that I have. Any help will be appreciated, thank you in advance.
