I've decided to go the BBB route, so the new 340 has to go... just not sure when it'll be out and ready to go. Currently it runs on 91 octane without pinging with retarded cam (-4 degrees), recurved distributor and Crain adjustable vacuum advance. Total timing is set to about 32 degrees.
The engine has about 1,750 miles on it.
    10.25:1 +0.020 Egge pistons
    Chrome filled rings
TA 284-288H cam that makes this engine sound awesome.
    Roll-Master double-roller adjustable (+/- 8 degrees) timing chain.
    New TA Adjustable push-rods
    Port matched heads and intake
Ported block oil pickup line to 0.5"
Ported timing cover and oil pump to 0.5"
    Factory valve train
    New timing cover
    New Edelbrok 600 CFM carb
    New Sanderson headers
    Offy valve covers
The distributor and coil are not included, everthing listed is.
    $1800 :TU: or best offer.
Again, the main reason I'm selling this and going with the BBB is... I can get more HP from the BBB and still run it on 87 octane gas.
I have pixs of the engine, but not on this computor, will update and post them later. Or you can find them attached to my other Threads in the SBB section.
    Thanks

    Dan,
The heads I got via Ebay for $300 (including shipping) and they were already done to factory spec. I was going to do my original 340 heads myself but I didn't want anyone to notice the plugged air injector ports so I went with these with no injector ports, besides the heads were a deal.
Normally I do my own headwork but when I don't have the time or help from my buddy with the valve grinder setup I have Bob Gromm of Gromm Racing Heads do them. BTW... Bob also did the engine work on the 340 but I assembled it.
Yes, I might sell the parts separately. I haven't given it much thought.
    Doug,
The pistons are from Egge and they are 10.25:1 OEM replacement. I doubt that they are forged because they were not expensive, but they did have a fully machined look to them.
The cam is the TA 284-88H, 223-230 at 0.050", 110 lobe centers and an overlap of 6.5 degrees.
Hear it run? Come on over. I guess I can find some why of making a recording, just not sure how good the fidelity will be.
Everyone else... I can't ship this engine because I don't have access to a loading dock anymore.
