I dont know Johnny personal, but he is in several of the Buick Facebook groups and is very much into Buicks. He is very active in those groups, and I have not seen anything bad about him. Again, I dont know him personal.
It's not unheard of to change/hone a bore if a piston change was made. Different piston manufacturers have different wall specs, especially with material changes.
I have met him in person he lives not too far from me. I sold him a vinyl top a few months ago. As stated in previous post he is active in several Buick groups.
Do you want a deal or a great engine? Not to block the guy's sale, but a crate engine, well-built, ready to go is only a few thousand more with a warranty. And those you have a "menu" of options and prices. Shouldn't this be in the "Parts For Sale" section? It's odd when someone else posts someone else's for sale stuff...

Well, I bought a similar deal for $5,000 and imo it was better for me than a crate motor with a warranty. Depends what your goals are. Mine is being upgraded for more strip than street so for me it’s better than a stock rebuild.
I am in NC and they do not do Crate Buick engines that I know of anywhere in NC. I also would go as far to say I would be hard pressed to tell you anyone that would build a 455 in NC with a warranty.
I don't know these guys at all, but I'd pick a better example of what you get for a $5,000 "crate" engine with a warranty. With "60,000 engines sold" you would think they would have a legible website. I'd also like to know where they are getting the aluminum heads from these days...
