Well after shipping me incorrect front bumper bolts for my 68, CARS tells me they can't get 7/16" bumper bolts... yet their catalog has a listing for 64-72 bolts, separate from the smaller 61-63 3/8" bolts they shipped instead. They actually tried to tell me the smaller bolts are replacements... like they'll really work in place of a 7/16 in a bumper. :spank: I even typed comments in the order form specifying they needed to fit a 68 GS350. K**** tells me "how am I supposed to know what size they should be?" I hung up after one smartass comment.

AND SO, who could use 6 free bumper bolts? They are stainless steel it appears, rounded dome head, not the flat version. 3/8" bolt size, 1" long, head is 7/8" diameter. Nuts included. Shipping included. Give me an address and they'll leave today. I'm going shopping at TPP.

    David,
If I remember correctly the original bolts had a head that was somewhat flat, ie. they had a low crown.

Most of the repro bolts out there (the steel ones with the stainless cap) have a higher crown, but years ago I purchased solid stainless versions with the identical crown as the originals. I don't remember where I bought them, but maybe someone here would have that info.

Duane, thanks for the info. I'm not even real concerned about the head style, though what I took off my car was the flatter low crown capped style. Original, I don't know. Solid stainless w/o a cap would be fine. I just want to get my hands on 7/16 bolts. I have a source, but not a regular vendor. (AMK) Checking with TPP right now.

Nobody can use free 3/8 x 1 bumper bolts?

Side note: I ordered 7/16 x 1 bumper bolts from a local bumper/body parts supplier today, will have a box of them in a week, with spares to be listed in the Parts for Sale section.

Still have them but nobody wants them? Well I have a use for them where originality is not important. I'll send that shipping address to you via private message, if you don't mind. Thanks! :TU:

Excellent, I'll toss them in a padded envelope and mail today! My CS experience with CARS was so lame, I figure this will offset that bad Karma... :)

Alan, I have the box of bolts in the 7/16 x 1" size, with SS caps on them. I should be installing my new front bumper and repainted grille next week, and inspecting my rear bolts for possible replacement as well. At that time I'll know what I may have for spares. I don't know if the 1" length will work for all of the bolts for both bumpers? But they will for the front. If you can figure out exactly what you can use in this size, I'll probably part with them. But I do want to keep a few here as well. Let me know. I think I can sell extras at about $1.50, will have to check my receipt.

No worries Alan, I'd be happy to send you what you need in the size I have. As to correctness.... I'm not sure anyone has provided firm answers to that. My box is like 20 or 25 bolts, I forget. I'll have many spares, PM me if you figure out what you need.
