What would be the best way to take care of frame rot? Cutting the rot out and welding in new metal, or just welding new metal over the rot. It is just behind the rear tires on my 84 Regal on both sides.

correct, but you dont have to have a custom tube chassis to back half your car.jegs or summit sell back half kits pretty cheap that are for regular frames.when you back half a car, what you are essentially doing is making room for massive slicks, along with the use of wheel tubs, keeping the cars center of gravity as low as possible.of course theirs alot of cutting, welding, and fabricating though. thats what i plan on doing to my regal some day, along with cutting out as much steel, and swiss cheezing the car as much as saftly possible to lighten the car up.
