Lots of great information here but can anyone give me a rough estimate or direct me to an existing thread that will help me figure out roughly what I would need to spend to convert my '67 GS to a 4 speed?

I have a tranny but basically need everything else...so any tips on where to find repop stuff and what is available would also be helpful.

I'm basically trying to figure how much it will cost and how difficult it will be to gather all the parts so I can decide if it's worth it.

    Thanks,

    Jon

If you need pics. or measurements drop a pm. I have a setup in a car untouched and out.

Thanks Jim, that thread's perfect...will PM for pix and measurements if I decide to go that route.

Sounds like at least $3,000 investment plus a lot of time and effort to find parts. Probably worth it in the end but I'm still not sure I'm ready to take it on after reading some of these posts...more involved than I thought!

I bought a car that came with a muncie and shifter in the trunk. I'm more interested in having a four speed car than a "correct" car so I'm doing a hydraulic clutch. Here's what I got so far.

Bellhousing $55, flywheel $300, clutch & pressure plate $200, Pilot bearing for non drilled crank $40, Chinese pedals $75 (need modified), Clutch Master Cylinder $50, Hydraulic throw out bearing $160, Braided lines $40, generic shifter boot $20, home made tunnel hump.

The stock drive shaft should work depending on the output shaft size.

I budgeted $1000. It's also about as bare bones as you can get. Once I get the trans up in the tunnel and see how much room I have to work with I may switch to a slave cylinder in lieu of the hydraulic throw out bearing to cheapen it up a little more.
