This rotating assy was originally first assembled and used by Norm Dihle in 1998, I bought it in 2000. I raced it to 02 when I changed the block and 2 pistons due to a broken valve. Ran it for approx 4 years, pulled it (stored in my heated garage) and ran a low compression 455 (sold that one to a board member). Disassembled, changed bearings, inspected and re-installed the stroker this summer, I'm selling the short block to fund other (family) projects, I'm not planning on racing the car in BG but can deliver short block. The buyer can add the following if interested, timing cover that is currently on the engine, add $250 (was NOS, heli-coiled, short water pump, KB booster plate). The cam was ground by Steve Long (former KB cam grinder), flat tapped hydraulic (these are the KB lobes) 240/260 on a 114 w/Scorpion Lifters (noisy but good idle), add $300 (Scorpion lifters are $143 from summit and can be re-used multiple times), also included timing chain and pushrods. This short block today would cost approximately $6k to build +$800 for the extras, best offer, can deliver to GS Nats. Short block is still in my GS, if your local and interested, you can drive it! Thanks for looking! PS This is a high compression short block, it will need race gas or E85, will not run on pump gas.
I bought the other motor Rob sold. It is incredible, purrs like a kitten untill you stomp on it, then it is pure power. One of the best I ever owned
PM Returned Thanks Mark! Briz, Yes, no heads but the pan IS included because of the Halo Girdle will not clear a stock pan (see pic). I'm not looking to sell the heads but it's an option. 1970 Cast Iron, Gessler Ported (these were on his car at one time, 300 cfm). To be clear, $3800 is the short block with oil pan. The buyer can add timing cover, cam, cyl heads, intake etc...
Rob, Sent you a PM. I am also interested in "complete" engine if you decide to sell it complete. :TU:
All PM's answered except I haven't heard back from Briz. This short block is high compression, it will not run on pump gas. It's back for sale pending Briz.
What a great deal ! Whoever buys this shortblock will not be disappointed. Rob's attention to detail is second to none. Kenny T
