I have a 455 and a schiefer aluminum flywheel which bolts up fine to the crank... I also have a centerforce dual friction clutch PN:df148552 which should be for a 11'' flywheel. However the mounting bolts on the pressure plate are dont even come close to lining up with the holes on the flywheel. The plate is a larger diameter than the holes on the flywheel they measure approx 12 5/8''. Flywheel mount holes measure 10 5/8'' center to center.. Im wondering if its the flywheel thats off or is for a 10.4'' clutch. The wear pattern on the flywheel would appear to indacate 11'' however. confusing. any suggestions. Id rather go with a new flywheel than clutch but whatever. Dont know if anyone has some measurements of a ta flywheel or not..
I just happen to have a factory Buick 455 flywheel readily available and just measured it. measures exactly 12 5/8". So it appears that you have the wrong pressue plate.
Hmm, my flywheel has multiple tapped holes for what I guess would be to install different sized clutches. I just installed this 11" centerforce clutch on Saturday. You can see the bolt pattern is right at the perimeter of the flywheel.
Thats what the pressure plate measures, bolt hole 12 5/8 center to center. The flywheel measures 11 5/8. So i actually think my flywheel is wrong? Or are you measuring the outside diameter?o No:
I must of misread your original post. The bolt holes on my stock flywheel measure 12 5/8" from center to center. There are 6 of them and this is the measurement across the two opposite holes. Sorry for the confusion.
No prob thanks for the help!:TU: ---------- Post added at 07:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 AM ---------- thanks man
