Im looking to swap flexplates. Is it possible to do a R&R without removing the TH400?

Possible if you get acouple longer bolts to put in the bottom trans to engine holes and slide it back as far as you can. Not fun though.

Getting the bolts out of the crankshaft flange can be difficult. Folks usually use some lock-tite on them. The less room you have, the more difficult it can become. Like Dan said, not fun.

I did it at Maple Grove Raceway at Bracket Finals in the 90s. Started motor up morning of the race and it was knocking. Figured it was toast....turned out converter holes were egged out in flexplate. Owner of my home track went to my house to get one to bring and we did the long bolt trick and swapped it out....still in there today.
