Pulled my instrument cluster and will be restoring. The clock lense is cracked so will be replaced. How do I tell if it's flat or pointed?

Pointed lenses were not used after '70 model year. This firrst one is flat. Second picture of pointed.

I don't think anybody reproduces the clock lenses. They are the same as the speedo, gauges, and tachometer lenses, but they have a hole for the adjustment stalk. You could drill a hole , but it won't look exactly the same.

Trivia: anyone know why the change from pointed lenses to flat? There is a reason other than just authentic.
