Guys where else can I get parts for servicing my 1955 Buick, plugs, points, leads n' stuff in general...I live in the UK. but shipping from the US is fine...so where do I look for good deals:)
I will also be looking to replace some of the glass on my car as well

  2. hey thar sirBaz...i am in the Uk too...i use this place alot for service stuff and shocks,etc... www.classicbuicks.com (theyre pretty comprehensive)
altho the most helpful guy i kno of in the UK has got to be kelly at Originals hotrod shop...works out cheaper to import stuff via him than shippin it y'self mosta the time....
if y'all need any used parts too...i got a buddy, ken in sacramento who runs the buick bonery, a big ass pick-yer-part and salvage joint...he's got real nice quality used parts...and is cheap.
i currently got a new trans bein rebuilt for my roadie...jus waitin on the darn thing now... wanna put s'more miles on her :)

Well i'm from Fife you know over the bridges past Edinburgh, how long have I had her...not long just over a year m8 but I love her, I bought it on E-Bay believe it or not... she need a few bits here and there done, she could do with a real good paint job, she still polishes up nicely though so i'm not in too much of a hurry for that at the moment. I need to replace a few of the side windows they are starting to get a little cloudy at the edges, i've already replaced the windscreen, she had a crack in the windscreen when I bought her but I knew that.
I've also replaced all the light lenses and various other bits...The last thing I bought was a full set of whitewall from Northhant down south and they look great.

How long have you had your lady...the car I mean...lol:laugh:

  6. i had her bout 18mths + back...from a guy i worked with, who got relocated with work and could either take the deuce or the buick ...so the buick had to go....so i dropped by his and promptly returned a week later to pick her up.
i done a few urgently needed or badly botched jobs here n there...like the gas tank leaked ,so ripped it out n welded it up...adjust the last little bit of life left in the old trans so i could do the showsw last yr...bits of wiring like a rats nest...new alternator conversion, new 'zorst manifolds, rear hub seals..
and bodywise the only thing she needs is a a small patch under the rear seat (2" punctured hole) and the osr fender arch is starting to get a lil nasty... but other than that she's a beaut...minus a few stone chips...
but hey i jus think we all got battle scars right??
but i'm afraid in the eyes of the purists, i'm about to perform sacreligious act....
the revamp is to inc... nosed, decked, 2" lowering, kustom ally rear arch inserts, starburst hubcap, satin black 2k paint, red metal
flake roof, pinstriping and maybe pinstriped flames(depends on whether or not i can be bothered.) black n cream tuck n roll ..
alot of people here have been bitchin bout me doin it, but i'm not doing anything that cant be easily returned to stock.....plus i am not selling this car..so i ride it how i like it...lol

your glass should be no problem...and all rubber seals are available from classisbuicks.com

anyhoo...otta go get some work done er my t is never gonna get built...

    RE: Buick Parts (Mid-Fiftys)

    Hey Guys,

I have had Very Good Experiences with Two (2) Vendors/Suppliers

    Buick World
    P.O. Box 581
    Enumclaw, WA 98022
    360-825-3787
    360-825-3788 Fax

    ALSO

    Bob's Automobila
    Box 2119
    Atascadero, CA 93423
    805-434-2963
    www.bobsautomobilia.com
    E-Mail: bob@bobsautomobilia.com

These Guys have been just Super with Me . Very Knowledgeable and Helpfull as well as Customer Friendly.

There is also www.Kanters.com and www.classicbuicks.com

A Lot of these Vendors/Suppliers deal in certain Specialty Items. Kanter has an online Catalog they carry a lot of Kits for Motors, Brakes and Front End and an Assortment of other Items. Classic Buicks have an Online catalog also.
I haven't done business with Kanters or Classic as of Yet. You can shop around for the best prices, but then You don't want to throw any savings away with additional shipping costs from multable Vendors/Suppliers.
I know one thing, stay away from Cars. Inc. I have heard NOTHING GOOD about THEM.

If You Guys need help with a Particular Item, Give Me a Shout and Drop Me a line. I have a Library of Buick Publications as well as a Buick Parts Resource Guide. Hardware is Pretty Tough to find. but there are a could of places out there. A lot of Mom and Pop places that don't use the net. All Business is done over the Phone.
A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed

I hope this Helps You Guys Out

  8. thats great "56" i know a few things i am gonna need....but i gotta concentrate on getting my freshly rebuilt dynaflow into the thing asap....the old unit gave up the ghost like 3mths back, and she's been sat in my workshop since....good thing bout it is that its given me time to start the revamp...and so far i've got the thing nosed n decked, repaired some rather crucnhy pieces of steel around the front fender, straightened the rest of the one half of her body, jus got the other side to do....and we're nearly ready for a lick of new paint....

i'll definetely give y'all a holler soon as i'm piecing her back together, as i'll have a better idea of the exact stuff i wanna replace.....cheers :)

  10. it wasnt really hassles offa those guys, jus didnt like my pro street styled cuda, thing the guys who ragged on me were the 'purist' types alot of these shows attract...jus couldnt be doin with them griping bout my ride is all... theres too much of that BS in the car scene...i try to get involved in clubs that dont give a rats ass what ya drive,so long as its old(ish) and modified...and you wanna have a scream alla time..

yeah been to americana in the past, good show, unfortunately this yrs coincided with some other event we had goin on so i couldnt make it...
which suckewd cuz its always a good event, and theres hella bands that ya dont get much chance to see over here too often....

    SirBaz The Rockabilly Man

    Hi m8

Did you have a nice time in cornwall...was the weather nice to you...

Yes I do have a re-print of an original service manual but I find sometimes it is not very clear...probably me, but yeah it's a good manual, I also have bought a lot of other brochures and stuff for my 55 on E-Bay.

Yeah the reason I was in a hurry for the proper settings was my car broke down on me at Sainsburys shopping centre and well at first I thought it was a fuel problem but we discovered it was the points..the funny thing was I had ordered a new set along with plugs, new coil, leads n other stuff, but they hadn't come through from the states yet so I started looking through my magazine for maybe someone in the UK who might have a set (long shot I know) well what do you know, we found a place in England who had the points for 53-56 Buicks, excellent and I got them to post them to me and I received them the next day..What service!

So maybe you should try these guys if your stuck for stuff -
