I finally got around to getting my Dad G-BODY DAVES 79 running, put the motor in had some difficulties with the mounting pads, but after a little bit of positive encouragement with a 3' pry bar it slid right in. I Hooked up the distributor, carb, rad, and headers and it fired on the first couple revolution and held a idle.:beer WoW Let me tell you what a rush to here it run after being mothballed for the last couple years and what a sweet sound coming from the 3" flowmasters, a 462 is music to my ears... Not all went as planed I cant seem to get the starter to disengage for the flex plate.:Do No: I have tried shims, different tightening techniques nothing.. Any ideas its a mini starter...Placed a order today for MSD wires, cap and rotor. I'm running a 6al what do you guys think about using the MSD coil do you think I will see any benifites over the stock coil...when the car was resting in the driveway a tree branch fell out of the neighbors tree and broke out the passenger side tail light so I'm looking for a replacement if anyone has a source for one please let me know... thanks guys just had to share my excitement...

Looks good Matt! I was wondering how that project turned out.

She is all running just got a few trans problems ironed out. The check balls in the 200 4r Governor fell out so I only had first gear, but from what first gear felt like on the road im a thinking 2nd,3rd,and 4th are going to be pretty fun..The wiring is going to be a good week long job I have to install the wiring for the roll control,MSD 2step, timing retard, shift light, tach, and the wiring of the NOS system, should be a good runner when im done when ever that is:confused: ...THe old man would be proud

I was fiddling with the timing and got it a little to advanced, and it backfired and broke the nose off the starter so Ill have a new nose on the started tomorrow the local starter shop is only charging me 25 for a new one installed ..Im hoping to make it out to the track in the next couple month I will post some times..But first I need to go out and show some of the local blue oval boys what going fast with class is all about:laugh:
