Earlier today a fellow Gahanna Police officer Sherman Buck, was involved in a situation in which he had to shoot and unfortunently kill, an elderly man that was armed and threatening. He had just murdered his wife in her hospital earlier. Police believe that he wanted to die. The officer involved is very shaken by this terrible turn of events. Please pray for him and both families involved.
Derek, prayers for Sherman and his family are on the way as well as for the family of the deceased. My father was a police officer for 31 years and I can't even imagine what he may have seen in those years. We could tell when he saw something unsettling because he was 'different' at home. More attentive to us kids, I guess, would explain it. Tell Sherman to embrace his family and know that they are there for him.
I wish him the best as that is some thing that will come into his thought for a long time. I have been close to that with the same circumstances but my partner was able to get behind him and take him down. The good thing your friend went home to his family. Take care.
