I think everybody must have forgotten about Scotty G who was running 7.70s over 10 to 12 years ago with his buick motor. Shame on you guys.
Terrance, There is a big problem with your statement..... Scotty was only able to make one or two passes before hurting the engine. The Buick block just cant handle the stress. Take Care
Yes, John thats is true. I was just stating the times. Even though it didn't stay together he has the ability to make them run the number. When I visited his shop when he was in New york. He had several T A catalogs with the picture of his car with the 7.70 caption under it. (I still have it). I asked him about it. He said he wouldn't build another buick motor until someone makes a block that can handle the power he was able to produce. And with him being at Pat M's with all the lastest technology at his disposal. Can you imagine what times he could put up on the board. Better yet what Doug Hecker is going to put up. with the new blocks.
That would suck, building an engine that ran in the 7's and have the block give out! Oh well, that is an awesome time, and when the blocks are produced that can handle the power, then i guess that there will be some good times in the 7's or even better:beer -Cody
