It's a shame Photobucket ruined this thread.

Great! I'm trying to figure out if this is something I can do (with my limited experience), or should I ship it out to the pro's.
I was able to get my antenna replaced with a near perfect one, radio performance improved quite a bit but it's still got a lot of squealing and static.
After reading this thread, I realize it very likely hasn't ever been gone through.....so it's time to "git her done"
Thanks for looking into the photo problem!
    Many Thanks

Just picked up a 72 AM/FM radio at a swap meet and bench tested it. The AM side works but I'm getting nothing on the FM side. Is there anything I can check or try to figure out what's wrong with theFM?

    Thanks,

    Larry

Wow, looks like the pictures are back!!!

Larry, try giving the bias adjustment pot a turn back and forth. Sometimes just giving it a turn back and forth scrapes off the surface rust and bring it back to life. See if you can get a voltage reading off the output transistor

Well, I was able to get it to play one FM channel but that’s all. Voltage on the DS 501 is 1.660. Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Larry

Sorry if this is a dumb question Larry, but do you have a good antenna connected to it?

I assume it's good. Just bought it from Autozone to use to test the radio. I really find it odd that it will only play one FM channel and that is 104.9.

Thanks for all the help Jason!

OK, I tried another new antenna and got the same result, only plays one FM station. Can anyone recommend a radio repair shop that they have done business with? Just need a repair, not a restoration.

    Thanks,

    Larry

My am/fm radio works but the blue wire for the rear speaker doesn’t work. I tested the speaker and it works fine. Any ideas how to get it working again.

    You have a fader installed?

    Carcrazy Dan Whytock

    Nope
Just the factory am/fm with the single blue wire running to the back speaker
