I thought it would be cool to be able to play the stash of Elvis 8-tracks I found in the trunk of my car so I bought a Buick 8-track player and am looking for a factory AM/FM radio (stereo or not). I'm also going to need the wiring harness and mounting bracket for the 8-track. The question is: how hard is it to wire this all up? There are 2 6x9 speakers mounted in the convt well which I'll wire and might put a pair in the doors since I'm covering the lower panel with carpet anyway. Thanks. ________ Squirting squirter
8 Track Just did an Oldsmobile radio and eight track. Get a copy of the wiring diagram from the chassis manual. When you find a radio, be sure to get the connector to the original wiring harness. Many of these have been butchered. Not complicated--even a lawyer can do it. John:grin:
Greg Were you able to find a mounting bracket for the 8 track? I have an 8 track I want to install in my GS, but I need a mounting bracket also. If I can't find one I will have to improvise and fabricate one. Have any ideas? Thanks! Randy
Just worked out a deal on one and awaiting payment instructions. I'll send detail pics and dimensions once I get it. Just send me a reminder if you don't hear from me in about 2 weeks. ________ Landlords insurance dicussion
Greg Just a followup to my previous e-mail and your reply regarding a mounting bracket for an 8 track tape player. Do you have any ideas or thoughts on mounting the tape player or where to get an original mounting bracket? Thanks! Randy
I don't know if anyone needs it, but I have a am\fm\8 track player that i Took out of a 1978 Buick park avenue. When I removed it it still works and i think if i dig around enough I might find the adapter to play cassettes in the 8 track.
