Exhaust system recommendations

Hey everyone, I've got a 73 regal with a 350 and I'm planning to overhaul the entire exhaust system. I need some recommendations as to what headers and pipes I should use.

I originally had a Y-pipe setup but I'm planning to build a true dual exhaust setup with 2.5" pipes. I have the necessary cross member and chassis space, all I need are some extra hangers. My first question is what headers I should go with.
I found a set of Hooker ceramic coated 1103-1 HKR headers that should fit my car.
I've already picked out the mufflers I want to use. Flowmaster 325108 Delta Force Single chambers.
I was also talking to a seasoned mechanic at my college and he was recommending an H-pipe so that exhaust flow would be balanced between the two sides. What I want to know from you all is whether you agree with the choices I've lined up and whether I should go with the H-pipe or the separate lines. And if anyone has other good choices for headers or mufflers then let me know.

I'm not sold on the H-pipe. Pulsation flow in pipes is a funny thing, it does not like interruptions and disturbances, and the pressure equalization is unlikely to be as helpful as an X-pipe that merges the flow rather than creating an interruption.

I'd say that mandrel or ice bending your pipes so there are no kinks at the corners will be more important than the H-pipe. Try and eliminate any short radius turns as well.

Have you ever looked at the kits at summit. If you are for sure on flowmasters (I hate the sound) flowmaster makes a semi universal kit. It will come with tail pipes, mufflers, over the axle pipes everything all the way up to the collectors. You just have to mock it up then cut the pipes down to fit your car. I've never used on of these kits but I have wanted to try one for awhile.

this one dosn't include mufflers so you can get whatever muffler you want. A couple of companys make kits like this so you can get whatever diameter pipes you want.
If you are just going to clamp and not weld the system I recomend getting the strap type clamps instead of the u bolt clamps. Summit sells them and so does napa. Napa carrys them instock. Those clamps will hold onto the pipes tight and not crush them like the ubolt clamps so thatway you can disassemble them later.
