Hi, Gang. The 1963-1965 (maybe earlier years, too) nailhead passenger's side exhaust manifold has a heat exchange tube built into it. The idea is that the air inside the tubing heats up and is conveyed to the thermostatic choke control on the carb. As the engine warms up, the choke opens. The heat exchange tube is pressed into the exhaust manifold, and the other tubing running to the carb fits into it. My heat exchange tube has now burned through inside the manifold. I have obtained an NOS tube. I think the tube is stainless steel, and the manifold is cast iron, of course. What is the best way to get the old internal heat exchange tube out, and the new one in?
