Guys, my skylark with a 455 just won't stop droning. Its a 455 car with ta shorties and 2.5 mandrel exhaust with an x-pipe and currently running dynomax ultra flows whcih don't fit quite right. The car drones at idle. All other speeds are ok, but not great either. The car did drone much more until I put the X in and that mostly went away. There was a bad vibration, but that was remedied by the X pipe. But the drone at idle is enough to make me want to rip the entire thing out and start over. I've had 3 different sets of flowmasters and 2 dynomax mufflers on it. I've spent more on muffs than I even want to think about. I had a mild drone with the dynomax super turbos, but they were too quiet going down the road. The flowmaster mufflers would be great, but the drone is pretty bad. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get rid of this? I had a 70GS with the flomaster exhaust and it sounded great. All the noise was out the back, no drone. Same car basically here with some serious reverb. ANY IDEAS??

    thanks

    Bob

Bob - you might have a sound short somewhere, make sure no part of the exhaust or hangers is touching the body/frame and that all the mounting points are rubber isolated.
