Trying to put my Legendary seat covers on my GSX rear seat,..the bottom skirt is 3/4in too short,..and the overall width is 1 full in shorter than the original cover,..the side skirts are almost 5/8 shorter,.......it's that hard to take correct measurements?

The welting is clumped up leaves humps along the bottom where it makes the turn down to the floor also,...takes them a year to fill an order and this is what you get,...

I use Legendary for all my interior restorations and have had huge challenges working with everything they sell plus you have to wait and prepay a year in advance.

Called and he said send both covers in and we'll look and see,...I t might could be stretched in place but it's gonna look ridiculous if you did,...I mean how hard is it to get simple dimensions correct,....3/4in is A LOT of missing and needed material,..I mean the distance from welt to welt is over an inch more narrow than the frame,....and it's gonna roll the front of cousin off so much from having to pull it down so much it's going to hunch up the center something terrible

Were those covers ordered recently hugger? Or did you have them for awhile? My buddy had a similar issue with his Olds. He got the entire interior about a month ago and both front bucket seat covers have crooked seams in the middle of the seat back. The upholster told him before he installed so he was able to send them back to Legendary. The upholster also said that this is the second time in the past few months that he's had to return front seat covers from Legendary to get fixed. I get human made is subject to flaws but damn, wait a year plus and have to pay in full in advance, then have to send back to redo...

No wonder it takes so long if they have to redo them all…

If you have some sitting in your garage in a box, go open them and measure now!

I have a theory on stuff like this, it may sound ridiculous but here it is.
When you are rolling along on a project, then you get side tracked because of something else, then FINALLY return to the original project that you were grooving on, BAM, your fumbling, stumbling, “where was I at on this?”
I’m always skeptical of companies that are rolling along with a product, then there’s an interruption, “we’re out of stock, it’s going to be awhile”
Then they get going again with NEW people, and the quality is down.

    You're probably onto something here.

I have a set of Legendary seat covers that came w/a car & are prob. 10 years old. Hopefully the "good" ones! Need to order a bench seat cover amd now reluctant. Have nothing to compare to really.

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Unless parts are engineered, sourced, produced, QA'd and delivered from A to Z, then packed and shipped to you by the original vendor in the US of A, it is a crap shoot.

And you can guess who will end up with the crap, when the shoot is done.

Why anyone is still surprised at the aforementioned statement, then they rip open the box dropped off in their driveway, that most likely came via the Orient Express, is beyond me.

As American production was bought up en mass, then conglomerated and amalgamated then sold to the cheapest Yuan to offer to purchase all that was for sale... well. here we are, still wondering why most of what we have to scrounge through is garbage.

You have to really put forth effort to avoid being screwed.

Ironic that the FoMoCo, MOPAR and Chevy folks have the greatest sourced for parts, yet most of that is crap, while the limited parts for Buick (and some Olds/Pontiac stuff) is lean as far as those that produce/deal in parts, but much better quality and the service by the folks involved is so much better.

Remember this when you want to bitch about the few folks that have made it their like long desire to source and provide Buick specific parts.

If you want a thing, let them know. If you have bought a thing, pass on your honest experiences, and if you have done neither, don't talk crap. No one needs your dishonest views.

If this scene dies, the blood will be on our hands...

It no longer matters if you buy GM, Ford, or most other manufactures. Many of the parts are made by the same company, probably the lowest bidder. Just before I retired from the Post Office, I was working on a Ford E-350 van with power lock issues. Ford uses a boot between the A pillar and the door that instead of going through holes in the door and pillar as a grommet, it's just stretched around the connectors and when it comes off, I have no idea how they just come off but they do, it allows water to get into the connector. Last year, my neighbor's 2020 Silverado was having power window issues. I look at it and it's the exact same connector/boot setup that the 2019 Ford used. It's the same thing with turn signal, I mean multifunction switches. You can tell by looking at them that they are made by the same manufacture. Brake lite switches, or sensors as they are now called, are the same on Ram Promasters as the Ford vans.

IMG_0699.jpeg This is my first experience with aftermarket (Chevy) parts on this ‘68 Camaro here at work. Wrong clips, bolt heads are SAE, nuts are Metric, or close to a combination of the two, 3/4” hex head, and 18mm nut:rolleyes:
While I was installing the steering linkage I noticed the rubber boot on the lower ball joint, dry rotting! It’s only about 3 months old.
Yeah you can buy “loaded” new upper and lower control arms, with cross shafts and new bushings, etc, powder coated black, nice satin sheen, looks pretty, but the quality??????

That doesn't sound the least bit ridiculous. It is reality. But as long as the Chevy guys are happy I'm certain the Legendary folks couldn't care less about Buick stuff. Now if the Chevy forums start screaming they might listen. If only I has disposable income I would have a reputable interior shop source the material & do it from scratch. At least you don't have to deal with suppliers changing, Chinese quality, employees that are indifferent, human firewalls... etc.

There are lots of poor quality products made in the USA. GM is a great example.

It's wrong to think just because something is made in Asia it's poor quality. If a company wants high quality they can get it, but you need to have systems in place to verify the product meets standards. It's apparent that Legendary does not have that (regardless of where they make their stuff).

It's sad, because for so long, the Legendary brand has been repeatedly touted here (and elsewhere) as the best.

Measuring and sewing seat covers isn't brain surgery, but it still does require attention to detail and a skilled craftsperson to do the assembly. These aren't cheap, so they should be right the first time.

You're right it is sad. Legendary was always the first company that rolled off the tongue when someone asked about interiors. I also don;t mean to be argumentative, but to date, based upon real life experience, China and quality aren't quite synonymous. Are they capable? For sure.

More than likely, the so called American company's that purchases these Chinese products to be sold in America want the lowest cost product they can get.

Really sorry to hear Legendary is putting out parts with these kids of issues.
I have a full black 70 bucket seat interior they gave me in 2001 for assistance I gave them that’s been sitting in climate control still unopened.
Gonna hold onto that for dear life if this is their current quality :(

With all of the issues that Legendary has been having-requiring full payment up front, very long delivery times, and now quality control and fitment problems-I’m wondering how they now compare to PUI. Is Legendary still preferred and superior to PUI or are they having similar issues? Have they improved at all? Is there an alternative to either company or are these our only choices?
