OK, I will give the Torco a shot. I would not need more than 98 octane I would think. 32 ounces in a tank.

Read the back of the container. Points of octane is 1/10 not a full octane number.

It is also because avgas does not contain any form of alcohol, therefore the engines and fuel systems have not been tested or certified to run on alcohol-containing fuels. My Comanche had Goodrich fuel cells which were never tested with a fuel containing alcohol, therefore the fuel system was certified with non-alcohol containing fuels. My drivers (including the Buchev pickup) get whatever fuels are available. The Model T gets non-ethanol fuel only.

No, I believe you are wrong about that. A point is 1/10 of an octane number.

.1 is a full "point" of octane, its point 1 or .1 is how it is expressed. Not to be confused with a full NUMBER of octane, ten points of octane = one number of octane.(that's how they get cha!)

Now is he saying its full numbers of octane or points?

Actually the costs between them are closer then you think for 20 gallons. There is hardly ever a free lunch:

Let's assume $3 a gallon for 93 octane pump gas. In your case, 15 gallons of 93 is $45 plus $40 for 5 gallons of 110 octane totals $85 for a tank full of your 98 octane blend ($4.25 per gallon). Then for the Torco 98 octane blend, 20 gallons of 93 is $60 plus a 32oz can of torco at your price of $22 totals $82 for a tank full ($4.10 per gallon). That is not really a substantial saving.

In our case, we already have HD rubber gloves for someone other then me to clean the gutters, a respirator since we paint the occasional fender and goggles since grinding and cutting happen here from time to time. So, the cost of those is not included in the bulk price we pay for the additive and moving it to the smaller cans we have saved from earlier experimentation. Our bulk cost is roughly $16 for 32 oz of additive plus $60 for 20 gallons of 93 totals $76 for a 20 gallon tankful of 98 octane blend ($3.80 per gallon). Our savings on a tankful of 98 over Larry's 110/93 octane blend is a whopping $9 or about the cost of a lunch. Therefore, Torco could claim ............. wait for it.............There is a free lunch with every fill-up.

Derek, its its a full number point. same as torco. its not cheap in price. has real lead in it not like STP and other fake lead products. not sure what can Larry is reading. look on the site it has a blending chart. it the old lead supreme with a different name. call Bill up and ask him. on second thoughts dont believe me, cause if everybody starts buying it price will go up and there will be out of stock. lol

I clipped this off of Wild Bill's site,

Anytime you see point, that means 1/10 of an octane number. If it meant octane number, it would say that. If 6/10 of an ounce got you from 93 to 95, that would be something, and it would be really cost effective, but it isn't. The GSCA tested all these octane boosters way back when. They concluded that Race Gas was the best bang for the buck. The Torco chart references octane numbers.

    This one?

Unfortunately, that doesn't clear things up. The above chart does not state octane numbers. If it did, it would contradict the label I posted.

would never use av-gas. you got me thinking but am still staying with my story, but on your post it says noticeable decrease but not cost effective. might have to increase from .6 per gallon to .8 or 1 oz per gallon.

That isn't our Wild Bill is it? The label says points, not numbers. I believe the chart is misleading. Wild Bill is in this to sell octane boost, what possible motivation could he have to mislead?:D:D

not our Bill. he could sell torco and not sell the supreme 130 plus why would Kemco make false claims . if it was only .1 points why it would there be noticeable decrease in detonation. plus i been using for 2 years and can feel the difference. i did research before i started using it, other forums and reviews said it was the real deal. well that is all i got the defense rests. lol
