Are the mounting locations for A/C, Alt, ect. on a 1968 & 1972 Buick 350 the same? I would like to replace my bad 68 Skylark 350 Buick engine with an overhauled 1972 350 Buick engine. Also where can I buy a new Quadrajet for the 1972 Buick engine. Part #'s would be helpful. The 1968 engine has a 2 bbl. The 1972 engine has a 4 bbl intake. Thanks for any help.
The 350 should be a direct replacement. Air conditioning should bolt on. You need to check the water pumps as 72 has a different length. Use a 68 pump to match. Email Mark at quadrajet power for a carb. This would be the best choice. He may have a core. This would be better then a store brought carb . You may need a 4 barrel accelerator cable since you have more travel with a 4 barrel. Ta performance has 455 cables that will work. Distributers are different between 68 and 72. Which can change timing specs and vacuum advance depending on which you use.
