I don't know a lot about post 79 Buick V8 but I think the 1980 350 was an Oldsmobile engine. The Buick V6 and the 215, 300, 340, 350, 400, 430 and 455 have a front mounted distributor while the Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Chevy has a rear-mounted distributor.

  3. Buick made 350's in 1980 still. I think that was the end.

    David, you are right!
I looked in "The Buick A Complete History" book and it mentions that the last Buick 350 engines were built in November 1979 and instaled in cars until april 1980.
That's good news to me since I prefer the body style of the 1980 Electra over the 77-79 models I have already looked to buy a 1980 Park Avenue but it didn't have the Buick engine, and wasn't in too good shape either.

Sorry about the :error: Matt! I am sure you know how to recognise a Buick 350!

IN 1980 Buick made the change over mid-way and had the 350X and 350R motor.

but in 1981 not 350(except diesel) was available...

If my father did'nt wanted to sold me or give me his buick, i had spotted another one last year...

exactly like that, but with wire wheel cap

some body work to do, crank seal to change... But i don't like the look of the 2 door of this color.. and the interior was light gray :Dou: A pain for me... And it has the 350X with TH-350.. to much expensive in gas with the mileage i do in a summer...

In 1975 only 15X6 rims were available. That's why I am looking for newer ones to put on my 75 Electra.

I think its the top. If it had a black rag top it would look much better.

First time I have seen the car version. I see wagons all the time.

And yes they do suck a bit of gas but its all in good fun. Why I have a V6 Firebird for my daily driver. Firebird is about 5 bucks a week the wagon is 5 bucks a day.

bigger pic of mine with the sweet wire hub caps you speak of,

With a chopped top and maybe a little channeling work in the body I think the wagon could be a sweet looking ride.

Oh yea and mine had the funky wood grain sides on it but all it was, was a vinal sticker. Took a propane torch and pealed the whole car. The paint underneith was so so so nice.
