Ok. Just installed a plastic radiator top that I got from a junkyard. My question is, where does the smaller emissions decal go?

I’ve seen other 455 cars with it on the right side but the plastic top I have shows a wear mark on the upper left side.

I don’t know if there were differences form 350 to 455 motor (think this was from a 350 skylark) or build plant location.

Shiuld I put it over the wear mark or install somewhere else? My application is 455Stage1 so Flint built 01B

    Thanks
    Nick

I don’t think you have a choice! Unless you can get that ware mark out. But looks good. Did you paint it or clean it really well.
    You’re missing a bolt! Lol
**edit** looks like you did not paint it. The way it should be.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. It’s cleaned up and painted. Couldn’t get the old mark out as it’s all cracked. I have a bolt, just need to install.

Thanks. Just need to change the upper radiator hose from 71 to 70 style and add the hook and I should be good to go to be closer to 70 period correct looking even though my motor is a 76 block.

Great job on painting it then. Has me fooled. Strange the paint didn’t cover up the markings

Yeah. painted with SEMs. Covered majority of stuff but there is a lot of little cracks. Guessing the glue did something over time. Plus it looked like the moon, lots of craters, before hand. This thing led a harsh life :) lol I did a bunch of sanding, but couldn’t get the deep stuff. Least it’s a uniform color. Need to find a before pic
