    The battle continues….

After the shop finding water in the gas line and in the carburetor looks like we have to get another carb for his 1978 Buick Electra Limited. What is considered to be the best of the two. Edelbrock or Rodchester?
    Any help is greatly appreciated

My vote is for the Rochester Quadrajet, hands-down. BUT, it will need to be calibrated for your application. Several sources here on V8Buick to help out.

It's not even close in my opinion, the Rochester Quadrajet is the best carburetor. You can't bolt the Edelbrock carburetor onto a stock intake without an adapter. Get the Quadrajet rebuilt. Ken Gies, (techg8 )right here on V8buick is the go to guy.

Qjet. GM spent millions perfecting them for extremely specific applications.

Also-DO NOT buy a Qjet from the parts store, Rockauto, 1-800-got-junk or anyone like that. Don’t let the mechanic source it either. They’re all assembly line mix-n-match misfits by unskilled foreigners. (The carb might as well be sh1t in a box but the warranty will make you want to put the box under your pillow to wait for the guarantee fairy to bring you a quarter. But what if that fairy’s a crazy glue sniffer?!) Send your original to one of the guys on here. If he can’t save it he likely can find a core to build.
