a couple years ago, i bid $30 opening with a max of $120 on an ALPINE 3681 digimax sound field processor.

with about 3 minutes left in the auction, a bid pops up beating me by 1 or 2 dollars or what ever ... then all of the sudden with about 1 minute left, that bid gets retracted ... then another bid pops up pushing mine to 119.50 ... then the auction ended. i was suspicious and emailed ebay. it was illegal and ebay took action .... the item should have been mine but they were using each other to gouge my max.... ebay found the same pattern in some older auctions once they were alerted ..
ever since then, i snipe ... it cuts reaction times of the honest AND dis-honest.

the seller of the 3681 was mad and would not sell to me at all after it was all said and done.

    i bought a 3681 about a month later for 35 bux.
