honestly who cares...its a 79'. About the only thing separating this car from an 79' Aspen is the Buick portholes (in design only as it sure didn't have anything hiding under the hood stock) Sorry if I offended the flock, but some perspective would be helpful with some of these cars FWIW, there wasn't much of ANYTHING coming from Michigan in the late 70's that doesn't deserve to be mocked and ridiculed... the Trans Ams will always be cool (especially with factory charger'), 78 Pace Car Vettes will always be cool but everything else is Donk/demolition derby/crusher bait once it has served its usefulness imo
The only cars post 72 that are worth it are: Buick GN or Regal T-types Hurst Olds like the 73-75s, but the 80's version isn't bad 78-82 Corvettes(really only 78-80 so you could have a 4spd) Monte SS in 87 Trans Am up to 79(better with the Pont 400). 80 turbo was a POS Little Red Express(I hate them, but have a friend that loves them) Think about it. Would you want a Mustang, Thunderbird, anything Dodge? The cars got fat, slow, ugly and poorly built. Not the best that America could do. The "Doo Doo Brown" is just a step deeper into the pool. You can't polish a turd. All that happens is it smears.
Agreed... **** BROWN is more like it.. what in the hell is getting into the heads of these people??????:moonu:
Though the rear ends were weak in them things. I knew the last 2 owners before me and they went through 4 rears ends and a tranny. And its final days with me it lost them both. Came around a corner hot, stripped all the teeth on the rear gears and broke that giant steel bell in the tranny in half.
Sorry to say I disagree on this, that body style was good in the year it was built and a two door? Come on! Have you ever drove one of these? They were full frame, light (for the size) and ran quite well. I was at Miller Motors Buick and drove these when they were new, AL.
I had to drive my grandma's 78 Aspen with a 318 when the Stage I was parked (it did horrible in the rain, snow and cold)...we tweaked that little 318 and it ran like a striped ass cat, but just uglier than sin.
Color is everything on them, I had the white with red stripes, had the factory window louvers, I the put the 10in rims on the back, shackle lift, traction bars, big azz orange mopar hood scoop on it, removed the back seat and installed buckets. [Still got most of that stuff left from it, drilled 1 rim for a dual pattern but 10s are to wide for my Buick] only pic I could find on google, kind of far away. http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/2/web/2678000-2678999/2678667_5.jpg
To each his or her own , BUT certainly not for me . It bothers me to just see those abortions drive down the road .
