Oh, and to start with I'm not sure why it says 455 on all these pages but this is a BUICK 350 at 355 cid

    What does everyone think?

Just wait till my new engine is done with the lighter and stronger forged rods and light diamond forged pistons I have. Then I'll add the twins with that intake!

Oh, and I'm not sure why it says 455 on all these pages but this was Rob Margels Buick 350 engine with my X-factor intake made by Burton Machine.

Oh, and to start with I'm not sure why it says 455 on all these pages but this was Rob Margels Buick 350 engine with my X-factor intake made by Burton Machine. The X-factor is now going to Cason to use on his mild street engine and will be chassis dynod once Chris is done porting his heads.

There were some pulls done with the X-factor up to 7100 rpm and the engine was making more and more power still but with stock rods they did not push any harder. The dyno sheets for these high rpm pulls I do not have but Jim will come on here to try to answer questions anyone has.

    What does everyone think?

I'm thinking I like it, that intake definatly loves a 2in spacer! I imagine open plenium?

2in spacer makes it more comparable to the ta in low rpm
and the upper rpms are killer :Brow:

now for a TT dyno LOL

    chryco63 14's or bust!

Wow, could that torque curve get any flatter in #1119 and #1121???? Awesome!!! I'd love to see this with a twin setup!!

What were the details on the combo in #1123?

Thank you Jim, Rob, Mark and Sean!!! :TU:

Yeah the 350 loves air/fuel forsure and this was all with a 1000 cfm Demon. This engine has a really big cam and it was hard to open it wide up at low rpm with ANY intake so we will really see how this can shine on a chassis dyno using Casons mild street combo (low comp and TA212 cam) and ported heads. I have confidence this Intake will beat out the stock intake all across the board.

#1123 was without the 2" open spacer! the spacer helps HUGE!

I can't wait to get my MPFI Twin turbo X-factor combo tuned up, it should be a fun daily driver!

1123 was with or without the spacer? It looks like it was with, but you said without... or I'm missing something.

Only 1121 was with the spacer and he shut down at 6000 so who knows what would have happened at 7000 rpm!

what was with 1119 pull with royal purple..looks like it did better then the xfactor/2inch spacer?
or was it also with a 2in
ah n/m on the 2in spacer thing then lol...but was it tuned a lil better or did the synteitc actualy increase the performance?

    Sean,

Do us slow(as in cars) folks a favor and put the numbers in a spreadsheet.

    Sheet Metal No Spacer
    RPM 4000 4100 4200 4300 4400 etc
    HP
    Tq

    Sheet Metal with 2" Spacer
    HP
    Tq

    TA Dual Plane Aluminum Intake
    HP
    Tq

    Put the peaks in bold?

Also for us street jockeys what was the Torque at 2500 and up.

Thanks and sorry for being a pain in the A$$.

The royal purple synthetic was worth just a couple hp and ft of tq.

I dont really have time to do that but your welcome to toss that together for us.

Regarding the low rpm torque we will be using Casons mild cammed engine on the chassis dyno to prove how good it will be on the street. Both with the ported heads and with the stock ones he has been running. We will have a head to head iron stocker vs x factor shootout on Casons car! Quarter mile times maybe even!

    Justa350 I'm BACK!

My impression is that the off idle/low rpm response will be slightly less with the X-Factor, as expected. After 3000rpm it just steadily pulls away from the TA. Cason will be able to tell us how noticable this is on the street.

Jim was unable to find a peak rpm though for fear of scattering the motor. With custom rods this thing would scream to over 7000 with the power still climbing! I think under boost the differences will be frightening.

It should also be noted that the TA is not stock, out of the box. It is significantly ported, and matched to the heads.

Oh also, the X-Factor put up 540hp, but above the charts rpm. You can see it in Jim's notes.

On the one pull, the X-Factor shows horrible low rpm torque because the engine did not get full throttle until above 4500rpm.

Thanks for building this intake for me, I'm very pleased! I have ordered 2 more by the way everyone!

I'm pretty sure Rob is getting an X factor of his own BTW.

Rob's 540hp figure makes me quiver to think what would happen with say 10-15psi and some trickfuel!!!
