    SRE pan
    Don't think pan is issue

External pump pre-set....doesn't rise the same as stock type setup. Regulator set at maximum.

Gonna be interesting to see how it runs with the tq peaking so high. How heavy is the car this engine is going in?

what compression ratio and fuel was used to get these numbers?

The Peterson pump, (whether it's std or high volume version) will normally supply over 100psi at full adjusted pressure. Does it have higher pressure at slight throttle and go down as rpm increases? Or is it low all the time?
Windage can play a huge roll in psi, but you'll see it change at rpm levels and fluctuate. If it's low all around, there are some other issues to look into.

What are the pulley sizes on the pump and crank?
If he bought the pump and setup from me, I supply the high volume pump, (#04-1026), a 23 tooth crank pulley and a 34 tooth pump pulley.

And once again.............. those kind of number without a full girdle scare the hell out of me!!!

This thread was started a year ago.. be interesting to know how it worked out, how much it's been raced, or if it rubbled the oil pan by now.

He hasn't raced it yet or even started in race car...only run on dyno.

Would it stay together if he set the rev limiter at 5500 rpm and 619 hp? Asking for a friend. Lol

Just repeating what Dennis Manner told me.. and I have seen proof of over the years..

"It's not the power, it's the rpm"

So yes, much better chance at 5500 of a good service life. I build 600-650 HP street motors with no girdle all the time, we have no durability issues that I am aware of. Probably got 20 of them out there. Street motors typically are not constantly pounded on..

Now, you take that same build, and put it in full time drag racing use, where your going to trap at 6300+.. then it's wearing a girdle.

The rpm isn't my concern...it's the low oil pressure along with it. I go 6500 rpm with 80-85 psi every time I race and have 1000+ passes, no girdle or diaper either.....:D
Also that 494 is obviously a stroker too which puts higher load on rotating assembly.

So it has to be bleeding pressure somewhere, or your Peterson pump isn't putting out what it should. Is there a way to check the pump?

My guess would be the block is hemorrhaging pressure somewhere. Years ago we had a block that dynod with plenty of pressure and after a few passes it wouldn't go over 50psi at 7000rpm even with the scavenger set up cranked all the way up. Turned out a piece of the block had broken away and was bleeding off pressure.
