Can a convertible top be dyed? I need a green top. I think the color is called Ivry coast gold. Thanks
I have dyed vinyl tops that turned out great. If the top is already on the car,you would have to pull the back half off to get at the window curtain area. The vinyl would have to be in very good condition to do this. The cost of the dye and labor would be almost as much as a new top.
I have the car at Premier Upholstery in Rodgers Mn. They can not find a replacement top in that color. It is my father in-laws car, he is the original owner. I want the car to look exactly like it did in 1968 when he bought it. I have been restoring it on and off for the lsat 10 years. Anyone know where I can get that color top? Or know where I can have a white one dyed to match that color?
Dye will not last...get the correct top color or very close to it. Contact E-Z on Tops and they should have it. There is another company that makes tops....can't think of the name. Maybe Jim Lore knows it....I think it was Lectric-tops???????
Where can I find what the color name is for sure. I called EZ tops. They had nothing with the name Ivroy Gold mist.
Visit www.autocolorlibrary.com They have ext and int colors listed......I "think" they have conv tops listed also.
Thanks! Looks like it is called Medium Gold Poly? I dont know why they would call it gold, it looks green to me. the paint is called Ivory Gold.
Robbins tops are great quality and they have a huge selection of colors.... Would post link but at company computer, just google them. They have samples too so just because they don't have the color by name does not mean you can't find something that matches.
Just get the Electron (or Robbins) swatches even if it is say a Ford color and have them make you one.
