We won 2th place this event in the Street Modified class, was a really close race a Turbocharged Subaru Impreza was breathing down my neck, but didn't get a change to pass me at the finishline (I had better reaction times then the rest of the drivers) so the Subaru got 3th place.
The 1th place was won by the blue Pontiac (Super Gas car with No2)

Beat them at the start, and race them to the finishline!

Our best time this race was a 11.0 ET@195.6kmph
No video's this time just some pictures.

    Tnx guys!

Sept 7th the final race will be held, and we are also now in 2th place in the Dutch Street Legal Drags Championship (DHRA/Tony Rowe) so if all goes well we can end this year with a championship cup again!

Our first Buick was called Opa (Grandpa) by its former owner, it was a 67 Skylark 2dr HT and when we bought it we adopted the name and thus this nickname on the V8BUICK board.

Robert - tell us what the others say about your Buick's performance.

The spectators and even some fellow drivers ask me if I use No2 or Forced Induction of somekind, and if I drive on racegas or E85.

When I tell them the engine is NA and uses 98 octane premium fuel (In Germany it is 100 octane cause they tend to drive higher speeds for longer on there highways), they are most of the time puzzeld or amazed, and some start looking the car over to see if I have glass bumpers, doors, fenders etc etc.

So in short the Buick is well respected!

I still do not use a shiftlights (I have a new one laying around), I never used for years and 200+ runs and got the feel for the car when to shift etc all depending on track and grip conditions.
And also no Transbrake, just foot braking it and beating a Trans Brake car at the lights always make my day!

Last race our Red Top Optima decided it couldn't handle the stress and the Big Charge the Buick makes run after run.
I do not know exactly but the Optima has done duty for more then 10 years for sure in the car, so we will be ordering a new one for it.

    Tnx!

Here is some info I could find about this specific Subaru, it has a bigger Turbo, fiber doors etc puts out about 600HP on E85 and less on premium fuel.
And it was a former ralley car or it was build like one before I believe.

There's a difference between octane ratings in Germany and the Netherlands:
