Me and my buddy went to the Caddy dealer for him to pick out a nice new Escalade for his "personal" use.

    uh, ok....:moonu: :moonu: :moonu:

So sitting in the showroom is this black CTS. I Since day one I have bad-mouthed these cars because of their retro styling. I took one look at this thing and was in love. I don't know why. SOmething in my head just clicked.

Soooo.......I managed to snag a set of keys for a cool blue one on the lot. These things are REAR WHEEL DRIVE!!

It's got a pretty peppy v6 in it with an optional 5speed auto. The 5speed manual is standard. I can make the tires bark pretty easy.

All this for $40k new:jd: :jd: :jd: :jd:

I was always under the impression that they were about $55k. Now I can buy one next year when the used models start coming back:laugh: :Brow:

    They are coming out with a v8 version with a 6 speed manual....basically a 2004 vette on a CTS body:Brow: :Brow: :Brow:

    I'm counting my dollars now....

The 04 CTS with the Auto is the way to go- you get the new 3.6 255 hp VVT V6 instead of the 3.2 Opel engine. Next year you can get the stick with the 3.6. Our V Series CTS will be arriving at the Caddy store I work at any day now. Cant wait!!!!!!!!

That v8 version (400hp?) has been getting rave reviews in all the mags, they love the thing, power, handling, quality.....maybe GM can come back after all....

    later

Retro styling? Compared to what an 84 honda? For 40 grand you can have a 600+ horsepower daily street driven 71 Centurion! And if you happen to crash into the caddy you can have your bumper rechromed for $150. Just my opinion.

But I can drive the CTS anywhere I want any time I want.

    And it has heated seats....

When Buick builds a 6speed, I'll consider buying NEW from them:Brow:

I just don'thave any interest in their cars right now. Maybe when the Lacrosse comes out and I can afford one....

The nice thing about buying a Caddy here in Canada is not only do you get the 4 year warranty, but you also get 4 years free maintenance-including one set of brakes/rotors front and rear! Nice since the 04's are using Mobil 1 synthetic oil.

I'll buy a woman before I buy a pet that is going to destroy my new house.:moonu: I love dogs, but I need somwehre that they can play without me being worried they're going to leave "lumber" all over the nice carpet...:eek2:

If I can find a used CTS for under $20k in the next 2 years, it's mine:Brow: Otherwise, I'll probably just buy another old Buick for a driver. Although it is nice to tote the lady I bought around in a nice new car...

Just something to think about:laugh: I gotta go play paintball wars now...

Good day:moonu:     :3gears:
