I need a good working Center Support bearing for a 66 Riviera. New or Used. Thanks. r0ckstarr79@gmail.com
Brian, I have a complete driveshaft including the center support bearing. I believe it was for mid 60's riviera.
How much do you want for it? How can you tell what year it fits? Do you have a picture or 2 of it? Thx.
Brian, Too be honest I am not sure exactly what year it fits. The center part has the number 1355471fk2 on it. It is approx 69 1/4" long from yoke to the end of the universal end. I have had it for about 20 years sitting in the garage. Not sure what it is worth - say $50 + shipping. It looks to be in very good shape. Send me your email address and I can send you some better pics.
If Carl's support does not fit "Cars" have both the support and bearing. Did the trick in my 68 Riv. "order info Bearing Support 1964-70, $ 87.50 - 1963-1985 Riviera/GRP 5 BS-619 Riviera, Driveshaft center bearing support 1964-1970 New OEM replacement part No exchange is required. Complete with bearing retainer clips Order bearing separately" Per. :beer
I copied this from another thread. I've bought a few over the years. As far as the bearing goes, once you get the old one out, clean it off to reveal the numbers on it. You should be able to get one at any bearing supply house. For my Riviera, I went to a local place in Mpls. called Gopher bearing. I'm sure if you look through the phone book you will find someone in your area that can match it perfectly. The center support for my car at least I was able to get through a local outfit that rebuilds drivelines. It cost me about $75.00. In the 80's and 90's I bought a couple of supports directly through a Buick dealer. The counter guy said they were still used on strech limos. But, the last time I needed one they weren't as helpful. I'm not sure if your car uses the same support and bearing as my Riv, but the part #'s off the boxes which I saved are. For the bearing: Federal Mogul #X908-CC The center support was made by (or distributed by) Powertrain Industries, Part #3R80-10. Sometimes it's worth looking outside of the obvious suppliers of auto parts. Hope that is some help to you.
Try this link: http://www.buick-parts.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?somersetSTORE:home Than search for "DSB-611 & BS-619". Their Riviera catalog on this link: http://www.buick-parts.com/catriv.htm There might be cheaper shops, but I have been very happy with them. Per. :beer
