Hi all, I have a '72 GS that was somewhat dechromed and had a couple of questions. First the drip rail moldings were removed and need to be replaced. Does anyone repro these ? If not how in the heck do you get them off/on, especially the part where it curves just behind the rear side windows ?? o No: Second, would anyone have them for sale as well as a few other moldings, I need front windshield and rear window trim, both drip rail moldings and both left and right stainless moldings under the side windows that run along the top of the door and rear quarter panel just under the side windows ? Thanks for any help, Harry :3gears:
Drip rail kits are available new from www.opgi.com I believe they are $89/set. To remove, I use a large flat-blade style can opener. Place a towel over the trim and then use the opener to gently lift up. Start at the windshield and slowly move your way back to the rear side windows. Once you get a small section removed, it will come off easily. The upper body molding is not available as repro. You will need to get that from a donor car.
Thanks for the info George. Do you know if all of the '72 models had the molding along the top of the door ? I've seen pictures on V8 and some have it and some don't, was it an option ? Thanks again, Harry
