What I would like to find out is the number of Drag racers that race the 350 buick motor to try to determine the need for a open plentum intake manifold.
If there is enough interest in a better manifold then we can try to get one made. If there is not enough racers then there is no need to bother with just a few.

I asked this same thing about billet rods and got just a few responses but not commits. So I just went on my own and had 5 sets made for my own use.
I can now buss it over 7000 rpm without worry. The problem is that there is not a good intake that makes good power over 6000.

My next thing will most likely be that I will make my own intake.

A non commit will not prevent me from going forward.

drag racer all the way to the bone. i am done try in vain to go any faster withe my current combo so i am going to shelve the 300's for awhile, going another route there. i am so NO a conformist and am ready to go faster but dont want to go with a 455 ,which i have 2 of . i have a 350 sitting ther just begging me to do something with. If we are going to start some thing ,do we pool money i.e. some one collect deposits? I'm asking questions . i have been on the fence this year deciding what to to. can we make this thread stickey and keep the non pertinent posts to a minimum? :3gears:

Dan, if the pictured manifold is the one you are talking about it belongs to me. It's still in Texas at Mr. Burek's place. I loaned it to him and Tubbed when he had Tubbed's motor on the dyno. There is more pic's in Tubbeds old thread.

Thanks for the info. Would it be ok if I got the demntions "cant spell"?
Do you think Mr Burke could do some measuring for me?
Also can you tell what the intake is off of?
Better yet would you want to sell it?

Dan, how big a hurry and how far along are you on the SS project. I have some more parts that you might be interested in. I didn't even think to talk to you about your SS project the last time we were at Coles County even thou I saw you mention it on here. I'am working night's right now so you mite PM me for more info for now.

Dan, I am serious and I do have funds, lets talk:
    sgaskin@my.BCIT.ca

I too have been curious about the dimensions (I can't spell either) of that intake because I too have been looking into building a intake.

I don't meen to but in here but I think the intake was build by Darryl Roederer, A.K.A. "Professor Buick" in the late 70's out of one of a few kits ever sold.

If I remember right one of the intakes was lost in a fire...

See if you can get the intake back so we can get some measurements. I have found a place that can make the adaptors. I am going out to the track saterday to look at the mopar cars to figure out what the intake is off of. I have got everything except an intake and the roller lifters. I will have to fabacate a oil pan setup.
    Got billet rods.
waiting for NHRA to aprove and make legal.
    got roller cam.
got a head porter that does super stock heads.
    got piston and ring combo.
    got aftermarket dampner.
Would like to finish up this winter and try this combo in the spring.
PS cant run aluimum heads. Ill eagle (sick bird) in super stock! have no need for the heads.

That was you parked next to me at coles?
Going down to pickup my fresh motor for the U.S. Nationals tonight.
Will test car at Coles the 26th the heading to the big race. Whish me luck at Indy.

Dan, that was me next to you. I'am not much of a talker, just one of my short comings. I was looking at some catologs last nite and the only manifold that looks right is for a 440, but not positive. There is no markings on the manifold that I can remember. I asked Jim to send the manifold back awhile back and he said he would but if I wasn't in a hurry he was trying to get something done with it. I think he was going to use it for a pattern or some ideas. I told him to keep longer if he needed. I had hoped the manifold could get something going on a new one or at least some adapters on the market. I think the problem with adapters is the intake will have to be reworked a bunch to be able to fit. I'll e-mail Jim about sending it back. I don't want to sell it yet, but you are more than welcome to try it. I know its expensive, Hogan's may end up as the only viable answer. I also have a set of Venolia's, a set of heads and a roller cam all from a failed SS motor I bought. I'll let you know about the intake when I hear from Jim. I fixed the attachment in my above post so it works. Just another view.
