wow... Look what I started, huh? ..and to think I thought I was gonna get BLASTED :blast: :spank: for posting a VW on a Buick based forum....sheeesh. I LIKE IT! ThanQ Mark for your encouragement. I really hope someone comes along that appreciates all the work. btw WHERE did you find your new 68? Wheelz, Tampa Bay
My 68 was about 3 blocks away from me, a good friend restored it about 10 years back. Twin carbed, built up little bug, black cherry in color. These cars are just a ball to drive. You will get more thumbs up with one of these, because everyone over 40 can relate to them from back in the day. Love the color and WWW tires, very cool look! :TU:
You are SOOOO RIGHT Mark! This car, even tho its only 36 HP and the gettie-up'n-go, just isnt......it sure is a blast to cruise in ...it corners tight..stops effortlessly... and I do get more thumbs up driving this around then I do any other cars I've cruised around town in... ..and this ARTIC color is awesome! Sometimes in the evening, I've had people actually argue its green hue...then in daylight it looks almost white till you park close to a white vehicle...the the ARTIC ICE BLUE tint really jumps out.... The local VW Guru says Artic Ice was an unusual color and because of that, it is an attention grabber for collectors these days. We shall see! :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Mark, hate to admit it, but that does sound cool, got any pics? Now get some of those stick on fake Buick portholes and customize it!:beers2:
HEY NOW WAIT JUSTA DOGGONE MINIT ROGER....! THIS is MY thread selling MY 1960 Beetle!!! BUY MINE FIRST...then you can talk to Mark about his...sheeeesh. :beer :bla: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Wheelz I heard the comment the other day, comparing VW acceleration to a Glacial movement ou: Let them say what they will, in the 60s and 70s these were very cool cars to own! Get that little jewel advertised nationally, and it will be gone!
When I was a kid my Uncle drove old VW's. When the VW started rusting out we would take the body off and use it as a dune buggy and drive it all through the Alabama hills outside of Birmingham. You honestly would not believe the rough terrain that dune buggy bug could handle. Great, Great, memories....:beers2: ttt with luck...
Yep. Pulled out the pass seat and stashed his victims on the floor. In his line of work, he needed a car that wouldn't break down...
