After going into the deep memory bank I spent hours going down the rabbit hole of find the Buick dealership that was at 7999 W Colfax Ave in Lakewood CO. I found some info that is was opened in 1950 and was open until 1991. But that is only part of the story. I'd like a few details if anyone has anything they can remember.

It's been occupied by other manufacturer franchises; used car dealership, Mazda dealership, and now a Jaguar dealership.

I continued my digging and found that the location was actually Bill Dreiling Buick for the majority of the time between 1950 and 1991. In fact, there is a image of the neon sign an article written by History Colorado about the street the dealership was/is located on. Through the years they also has Opel and Saab and maybe even GMC at one point. There is even a car that was sold there new that was the subject of a season of Dream Car Garage and then a couple of specials they did years ago on Speed Channel. Not sure how I forgot this but that's why these things need to be written down.

I have two cars that were sold new from Dreiling Buick and still has the nameplate on the trunk.

I did some more research and went down a rabbit hole for a while. It included Denver Buick, Bill Dreiling, and the mention of two other franchise locations but no names. I read a couple of law suits and an environmental impact study summary.

Via the old Ultimate GTO dealer list, there was a Bill Dreiling Motors Buick-Pontiac located at 230 South College St in Fort Collins CO (1971).

But Ultimate GTO's list has been fraught with errors / misspellings, etc, and in looking at the street today, it seems doubtful it was a dealer that 'recently' (maybe in the '50s or earlier).

Wow - College Ave was quite the 'dealer's row' back then.

Like I said- I could see it being one earlier, but by the '70s it seemed way too small (small storefront right on the sidewalk).

Last week I stumbled across Dale Buick in Littleton. It was a dealer sticker on a mostly original "72 Skylark at a local car show.

Didn’t know that was once a Buick dealer. It’s just a used car lot now. I live about 5 miles away south of there.
