Hey guys, Ive got a bit of a stupid question(at least it seems that way to me). Yesterday I attempted to pull the distributor out of my 300 cubic inch small block engine, and it doesnt wanna come out. Now, I pulled the bolt that holds it down and removed the hold down clamp, and it rotated freely to advance/retard timing, and when I pull upwards it moves a slight bit, probably bout 1/16th of an inch but then it stops dead. Am I forgetting something or is it just gonna take a little persuasion to get er out? I was wondering if its possible that the mechanical fuel pump could be causing interference being that the distributor is in front, but Im not sure about that at all. I know Ive done the job on some chevy motors and Ive never had a problem, just pull the bolt and the hold down and it comes straight out. What do you think guys, thanks.

It should come straight out. Some times it needs a little persuasion. Suirt some WD-40 down there, and keep twisting it back and forth. It will come out.
