Distributor Spring Kit source? Okay - even I'm starting to get it. But where do I get a spring kit to make the effective changes to the advance curve? Or should I wait until I get an HEI. Currently running stock distro from NAPA with points / condenser... o No:
Re: Distributor Spring Kit source? Erik, Buy the Crane adjustable vacuum advance kit ( Jegs part#-270-99601-1, Delco point type) It comes with 3 sets of springs that are ideal for setting up your advance. And you'll have an adjustable vacuum advance cannister. Then contact the ignitionman, he'll send you some great pictures that describe how to set it up with a better method than Crane suggests. And don't give up on that points distributor, the ignitionman can convert it so it works better than an HEI. Oh, and Dave, don't go anywhere, we still need you here on this BB.:TU:
Crane numbers: HEI dists: 99600-1 Points dists: 99601- When you get yours, e/mail me and I'll send you pics of how to correctly mount the scroll stop plate that comes with it, Crane says to put it on the wrong side. Trust me, it's on the wrong side.
